In Gračišče, the idyllic hinterland of Slovenian Istria, lies Homestead Ražman – a family farm that combines a guesthouse, wine cellar, olive groves, orchards, and guest accommodations. Every corner of the homestead breathes with the land and tradition, while the warmth of the family, which has nurtured respect for the Istrian way of life for generations, welcomes visitors. Here, every glass of wine is an invitation to relaxation, conversation, and a taste of the real Istria.
The Ražman homestead cultivates 6 hectares of vineyards in the nearby village of Popetre, where conditions are ideal for Istrian varieties. In the foreground are Istrian Malvasia (40%), Refosco (30%) and Maločrn (Plavina, 15%), accompanied by Yellow Muscat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Gamay and rare old white varieties - White Borgonja, Kanarjola, Laščina and Duranija. Each vine grows here with patience and gratitude, which is reflected in the character of the wines.
In the Ražman cellar, varietal, quiet and dry wines are produced, which express the true face of the Istrian terroir. The offer ranges from fresh, young wines to long macerated and oak barrel aged wines. The specialty of the house is the red variety Popetris – a refined combination of cabernet sauvignon and merlot, occasionally with the addition of refosco or syrah. For sweet moments, yellow muscat and mistletoe are taken care of, and in 2016, the family also started producing sparkling wines, with which the story of Ražman House expanded into the world of bubbles.
Among the vineyards of Ražman, there is a special gem – a vineyard over a hundred years old, planted with Refosco and Malvasia. This old vineyard is not only a source of excellent grapes, but a living monument to the long-standing winemaking tradition of the family. It contains a story of perseverance, respect and love for the land – values that are the foundation of the Ražman Homestead.
